“A unique & healthy shorba (shurbaah) prepared from black rice and chia seeds”
Ingredients:
-Ground paste of soaked black rice( 2 tbsp)
-Ginger garlic paste(1 tbsp)
-Green chilly paste(1 tsp)
-Black salt(a pinch of)
-Chat masala(1/2 tsp)
-Oil for tempering( 1 to 2 tsp)
-Mustard seeds(1 tsp)
-Chia seeds(1/2 cup)(soaked and bloomed)
-Lemon juice( of 1 medium sized lemon)
-Black pepper powder(1/2 tsp)
-Salt as required
-Water as required( around 3 cups)
For garnishing:
-Butter,Almond flakes, cream, chia seeds or any edible flowers
Method:
*Heat the oil in a pan, Add mustard seeds & Allow them to crackle, add green chilly paste, ginger-garlic paste to it. Sauté for 1 to 2 min. Add a little water and let it boil for 2 min.
* Dilute the ground paste of black rice in one cup of water & pour it into a pan, again add remaining water. Allow it to simmer.
*Season it with salt, black salt, black pepper powder, chat masala. Add lemon juice to it and turn off the flame after adding chia seeds.
*Garnish the soup with chia seeds, almond flakes/ butter/cream/sprigs of herbs/edible flowers.
